PoGO+  - an X-ray telescope which measures the polarisation of the high energy emission from celestial objects - was launched from Esrange Space Center on July 12th 2016 at 05:17 CET. PoGO+ is an upgrade of PoGOLite which flew in 2013. During the seven day flight from Sweden to Canada observations were conducted on the Crab (pulsar and wind nebula) and Cygnus X-1 (black hole binary). Such measurements stand to open a new observation window on these sources.  Official launch video.
