Nike-Cajun rockets were launched with a payload of grenades. These were detonated at different altitude and the perporse was to determine the temperature by means of Doppler shift measurements

Interior of payloads of the other sounding rocket, the Nike-Apache. The purpose was to catch particles from high altitudes and bring them back. Yesm the payload was recovered using parachute

The pictures above shows the Nike-Apache payload, the last one shows the recovered payload on its way into clean room.
The fins were painted red in order to help find the first stage. This rocket was named after the title of a popular Swedish song that year ("34:an")

Two long-exposure pictures of launches as seen from the control building.
Happy ending. One recovered Nike booster was found and
brought "downtown" Kronogård. The nozzle is almost intact.
