Particle - & Astroparticle physics

Our research covers studies of high energy proton-proton collisions at the LHC and studies of the high-energy universe with X- and gamma-radiation and cosmic rays with satellite and balloon-borne instrumentation. We are a part of the Oskar Klein Centre for Cosmoparticle Physics and the KTH Space Center.

Research

Astroparticle Physics

We study the high-energy Universe by observing X- and gamma-rays as well as cosmic rays. The scientific questions currently addressed primarily concern studies of emission mechanisms from compact objects and gamma-ray bursts. A key part of this effort is the development of new missions and novel instrumentation.

Research

Particle Physics

The research of particle physics group is based on the frontline of hadron collider experiments. The main scientific goals are to search for the Higgs boson and to probe for physics beyond the standard model, where the search for supersymmetry is a key element.
